Hello Parents and Students,
Welcome to AP Government and Politics, I am very excited to be teaching this class again. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child over the next year.
Personally, this is will be my 6th year at Chattahoochee High School, my 10th year teaching government and my 15th year teaching overall. I was born in Kingston Jamaica and raised in Boca Raton, Florida. I moved to Georgia the summer before my freshman year of high school where I attended and graduated from Norcross High School. After graduating, I attended Kennesaw State University were I received my degree in Secondary Social Studies Education and was a Cum Laude graduate and also honored as Kennesaw's Student-Teacher of the Year.
After graduation I married my high school sweet heart and have been happily married for 17 years to Eric Adams. We have two girls Arianna (11 yrs old) and Gabrielle (7 yrs old). I am also the questionable mother of two very sassy cats Lokie (a Buff Tabby) and Smokey (AKA Frank a Lynx Point Siamese).
While teaching AP Government at Chattahoochee, my students with their hard work and dedication have had great success. Last year 85 of the 87 students I taught passed the AP exam with a 3 or higher. The year before that my students helped me reach a personal AP best by having a 100% pass rate (with 78% of my students receiving a 5) on the AP exam. Along with that I was honored to be named Chattahoochee's 2017 Teacher of the Year.
I am looking forward to another amazing year,
Shoshanna Adams
